revised Z and sport coupe rears are the same...

I have a 2005 x sedan. i bought shocks and struts off a 05 350z touring edition and then i bought 2006 g35 coupe sport suspension.

the 350z rears are revised, looking at the spring thread i compared it. my rear z looks exactly like the coupe sports springs. the thread stated it should be .5 diffrence at the same spring rate but once installed they looked exactly the same.

both springs had 2 red on 2nd to last coil and 1 purple dot on the coil below. compared them side by side and they are exactly the same heights. i really think its the exact spring. maybe somewhere down the line i was lied to....

i measured the wheel gap and it was exactly the same. in a sense i wasted 20 mins of my night swaping z springs for coupe springs, but they are exactly the same. can someone confirm this? should i've gone non sports springs?

thread i used for my information

a thought has occured to me. I'm running stock Z rear shocks, they are known to be 1 in shorter.

where the people who claim the 1inch and .5 inch drops running G shocks?

Very interesting. I was curious so I went out & compared a set of unrevised Z springs with coupe sport springs -- exactly the same height! Now the coupe springs are purported to have a significantly higher spring rate, which might account for a ride height difference once installed and settled. Sorry I can't give you a direct comparo between revised and coupe sport, but if the unrevised are the same height, it seems likely the revised are, too. And if they're the same spring rate, then...what's the difference???

I tried the revised Z spring in the back with the coupe shock and it did not
feel right so I put on the coupe spring and it was much better...

This is from a sticky...that is why the revised rear springs did not feel right with my G coupe shocks in the back, those shocks are made to go with 342
and not 427...BTW I don't have an X so not sure if my stuff applies to your car..

Oem linear springs
G35 coupes with oem 17’s & 18’s
G35 sedan’s with sport suspension
350Z’s 2003/2004 (unrevised)
Front:314 Rear:342

Both unrevised and revised Z springs should be the same length, they just changed the spring rate to 427 in 2005. I know for a fact the unrevised Z and unrevised G springs are not the same length though, about an inch longer for the G coupe spring but both have a 342 spring rate.

Interesting news to see the G35c revised spring is the same length as the revised Z, makes sense maybe to fill in the gap better for the stock 19 inch wheels?

wheel gap is the last thing nissan is thinking about. they just got lazy and used the Z spring so they dont have to spend money on the R and D on springs for the sports suspension.

In a way sports suspension on the sedan or g35c should be a 350z setup.
