Why have pillow ball tops on coilovers
I've searched to no avail. The coilover kits available for our beasts eg Cusco, Bilstein PSS10 etc., can be optioned with or without Pillow Ball Tops. As the function of camber adjustment is useless on the PBT I'm left wondering what the true advantages are of having PBT on coilovers, If there is none, then I can save money and have the OEM rubber mount. cheers in advance.
it's the "benefit" of having a solid metal to metal contact as opposed to a compliant rubber bushing like a stock system. KW for instance uses the stock strut mounts and thats what they tune with for their street setups.
The pillow ball mounts give more sensation to the steering thereby enhancing the driver's ability to feel more steering and road feedback for better preformance results. They'll also increase ride harshness, so its up to you to decide what you want.

cheers idrive. Not sure I want the added harshness but then I guess it depends on the coilover too right? Ohlins DFV for example are apparently far from harsh on their "street" settings and yet have PBT.
