Brakes Great F#@^in Brake Pads

I just wanted to share my experience with you guys. about 6 months ago i was in desperate(metal to metal) need of some new brake pads and rotors. i lurked through this forum looking for advise on some good low dust brake pads and decided on a set of front Hawk performance ceramics pads from Stillen. same day i got the pads in my cousin and i got the front end on stands replaced the rotors then opened the box stillen sent to realize they sent me rear pads insteadno time to send them back, so i went to Autozone to see what they had to offer the best pads they had were Duralast Gold Cmax(ceramics) apprehensively i installed them. 6 months later i have to say im glad stillen sent me the wrong pads, these brake pads are virtually dust free as compared to my brothers Hawk P/C pads on his g35. the only draw back to Duralast Gold Cmax pads is that they dont have as much bite as OEM pads, but same bite as Hawks P/C, i wouldnt trade them for anything especially since i got a lifetime replacement

I don't understand the lifetime replacement-is that if something in the bake pad itself goed bad or do you get new pads as they wear down? Most brake pads I know of/used have a warranty against a defect but not against wear as that is what they are supposed to do...?

Everyone standards are different and they can chose how poor stopping performance they desire. After all if they rear end or hit someone or a tree it is their fault.
Just like different tires can have a wet stopping distance variance of 30 feet from just 50 mph so can non dusty pads!
When both are selected for long life and little wear [low dust] the stopping distance can be additive and then it gets really interesting especially in mild rain.

The lifetime replacement from autozone is when my Brake pads wear out i bring the worn pads back to Autozone and they will replace them at no cost. But check with autozone because i think a few months ago they stopped offering the lifetime replacement deal.

Exactly... if you want heavy dust pads that stop on a dime and have to change every 6 month its your choice

I also checked out Autozone Duralast ceramics ultra quiet ones too. I was advised that when the brake pads wears out, just bring it back to any Autozone and give them your phone # that you provided during the time of purchase and they will give you a new set with no question asked. The Duralast brakes also comes with the hardware kit and also the new caliper screws as well.

Of course you are providing documented evidence that you have negligently modified your braking system to lengthen braking distances.

US is one of few countries that have zero requirements as to aftermarket pads suitability for purpose, unlike Japan, Korea, and EU which require aftermarkets to at least provide 90% of oem stopping power.
