I've been trying to decide between the GTSpec strut bar and sway bars for Christmas (I'm picking my own gift this year). Any encouragement one way or the other? Also, in some places I see the strut bar described as "Type-D". What's that? Are there other types?

I'm hesitant on picking up any other strut bars after my experience with the "Richie/NRG Strut Bar". Even at the lowest setting, it was pushing the hood up with significant amount of force.

Maybe I will give these guys a try.

you'll be good to go with the GT Spec bar. my NRG bar rubbed a bit too, but the GT spec clears easily.

Sways, definitely.

That said, my GTSpec bars (strut, front/rear lower tie, 4-point) come in on Friday.. can't wait!

GT is by far better than NRG. bar is thicker and more solid along with a stronger base support

+1.

NRG bar lowest setting since I have no engine cover and no spacer hit the hood enough to bulge it and leave gaps between the hood and fenders on each side. POS.

From what I have seen on the GTspec is it fits over the engine cover. That sends up a big red flag for me. I have an ssv. I don't need clearance below the bar. I need clearance above the bar to clear the hood.

I can't imagine they'll be much different than the Stillen or Hotchkis.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these three. Just remember, Hotchkis comes wiith new bushings and the Stillen set doesn't.

Just bought the GT Spec STB from Riverside Infiniti today . Do the bolts have to be put back to a specific torque? If so, anyone knows how much in./lbs. it is? Thanks
