Dirty brake fluid and screeching

About 2 or 3 services ago, the dealer told me that I need to change my brake fluid because it looked like cola. I've put it off and noticed that my brakes are starting to screech loudly. Is dirty brake fluid making my brakes screech, or is it the pads?

I would like to know what I'm dealing with before I take it to the dealer and tell them my problem.

Thanks

Change the fluid. You obviously have a lot of contamination if it is brown like coke.

Fluid has nothing to do with making brakes "screech". What you're describing sounds like the wear warning indicators for the pads. You only have a short time to replace the pads before you do damage to the rotors.

Get it in asap and have it properly serviced by someone that knows what they're doing. Proper maintenance on brakes is essential to your safety and their operation.

So I got back from the dealer and they said that I have about 80% of brake pad left up front and 40% in the rear. They said that I don't need to change them yet but made note of the screeching and said it was probably built up brake dust or the aftermarket pads that are one the car. Since I don't have to replace pads yet, what do I do to get rid of the screech?

Also, does anyone know how many quarts of brake fluid I need to buy for a brake flush? OEM or aftermarket? Where can I get a good deal on this stuff?

Thanks a lot guys.

my brother has some screeching going on also and i was wondering the same that maybe he needs new pads but id now like to know how you would solve your problem if pads are not the issue. My bro has OEM pads, nothing fancy so i dunno
