Rotors too big? *Pics*

Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with my brakes. I bought rotors and pads from a member on here with a 04G35x and I have a 04 G35 non-brembo coupe. It was checked with a vendor to see if they work on my car, so i purchased them. when i got them installed, i noticed this:

Rear:

Front:

You can see that the pads aren't even touching that part of the rotor. now my questions are these:

1) is it dangerous to continue running this setup?
2) is it going to affect the longevity of the rotor?
3) are the 04G35x rotors different than the 04 coupe non-brembo or is it an installiation issue?

if it bothers you wait til the rotors are cool... clean them well.. and then spray paint that area with few light coats of matte black. then it wont turn that color when it gets wet

thanks for the replies everyone. its just looks ugly to me but i was more worried that the rust would eventually corrode the rotor prematurely. I think i'll just mask it off and paint it.

Hey... I didn't even know what you were talking about... yeah its perfectly normal... mine started rusting 15 minutes after i took them out of the box new and accidentally got water on them before i painted part of em... anyway its not a big deal. next time ur in a parking lot check out other cars... guaranteed 100% they are all rusted.

I know rotors are supposed to rust but I've never seen this kind of rust on my OEM rotors. What kind of paint should I use?

i never noticed this problem with my stock rotors. there was usually rust in the rotor hat but never the face so i thought this was weird.

All rotors rust like that, I painted mine prior to installing my first set of Volks. I used a 1/2" brush and semi-gloss paint, did it by hand....lasts about 3 years. Using spray paint would be easier but it floats around and can land on your painted surfaces....bad idea!

Don't be concerned about how much of the rotor doesn't touch the brake pads... worry about how much of the brake pad doesn't touch the rotor...
