Unhappy looking @ buying a G35X but hearing about brake issues..need help!

Im looking at buying a 05 or 06 G35X but im reading reviews from customer saying that they have had horrible experiences with squeaking brakes and most have had brakes done like 3 times at the dealer and its costing them a fortune for these premature brake jobs and the dealers wont take care of it. I really want to buy one of these cars but can someone elaborate more on what the issue is? Is this a problem with bad pads and rotors or is the problem a deeper issue. I don't hear many here talking about it too much in the other sections of the forums so Im wondering how you guys are addressing the issue. I have also read the many owners talk about rattling noises in their cars that dealers can never seem to find, any insight on this? my wife will be driving the car primarily and we will be trading in or selling our 03 honda accord v6 vtech coupe with 28,000 original miles, I dont want to regret this move if this car has crazy issues, seems like almost the perfect car except for the obvious complaints about brakes and rattling noises. Thanks for all your help in advance I can learn a lot by listening to what you guys have to say, if anything else I need to look out for please let me know.

No such thing as a perfect G35, what's wrong with the Accord you're going to trade in?

Absolutley nothing except winters here in Wisconsin seem to be getting worse and we are looking for an all wheel drive car, G35X was my first choice but when we took a test drive in a 2007 wife wasnt impressed with the smaller cabin, Honda coupe has more relaxed seating position, shame I really liked the car but I can see what she is talking about, passenger seatng doesnt seem very relaxing. Well we mozied on down to Subaru and she fell in love with the all new 2010 legacy GT with the turbo engine all wheel drive (265hp) & 6 speed tranny. lots of room inside and has the winter package including heated wipers and mirrors.

Ah yes, the AWD factor. That's awesome man Subaru makes a great car, glad you and your wife found something you like - plus brand new car - no question about past problems/abuse/etc...

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice

I want to say thanks to everyone who answered my thread, I really like the
G35X and my wife really wants to like it also because she knows I like it but in the end it isnt somethingthat youre supposed to "make" yourself like so I let her off the hook especially when I saw how much more comfortable she felt in the legacy GT, its pretty roomy front and back. So again thanks, this is a great forum and lots of friendly people

I was in the same situation as MarkoG35. You have to get a good quality brake pad, made with good material, like ceramic. I also got new rotors, but not the drilled/slotted, just regular old replacement ones and the problem has been fixed.
