2003 G35 sedan Front Brakes Noise

Hi,

I just recently replace my front rotor and brake pads with original parts from Infiniti dealer, but after it is installed i started to exhibit this groan noise when i brake and slowly to a complete stop. My machcanic told me that i need a hardware kit for the front brake, which is this part# 410805Y725, after this part is installed it will make the noise go away, i am just wonder did anybody experience this before. supposely its metal plates that covers the brake pads and can reduce or eliminate the noise the brake pad and rotor makes. Any insight will be great.

Thanks
Tony

You could avoid that by cleaning and properly lubing the existing brake parts. The noise is the pad vibrating back/forth in the hardware kit IMHO. Cleaning the points where the pad "ears" slide back/forth and lubing them with high temp grease usually fixes this.

He is alking about the brake shims, the new pads should have come with them. If they did not he should have put them on your new pads from the old ones.

Yeah but i lost mine during a previous time doing the brakes, so the brake shim is a must to reduce or get rid of this noise huh? Its just i have to spend another $60~$80 to get factory shims to place on my brakes so it would stop making this groan noise. So frustrated, i been spending alot time and money and i just cant get things done.

whoever replaced your brakes screwed you, they should have used the shims from the old pads. try going to a junk yard and getting them there, it will be way cheaper or swinging by the infiniti dealer and walk to the back and ask the mechs if they can hook you up with a set they just replaced on a vehicle. it's a long shot, but worth trying.
