compression rod removal... FML, need help

hey guys, so i needed to install my new compression rods, got the driver side out no problems, installed the new one..went to remove the passenger piece and the font ball joint part came out fine, the rear innermost piece rubber is stuck on the actual bolt. eventually the arm came off but the rubber is still stuck on. any info on how to get it off? i tried bp blaster, a torch, hammer, etc. its showing no signs of movement at all. heres a pic to describe my troubles lol.

heres the rod..bushing torn out

heres the bushing portion stuck on the actual bolt

help me out please! i need to remove this so i can drive lol.

the rubber has a decently thick metal ring on the inside of it, so when i started to cut through the rubber, i was hitting metal. im currently trying to grind through it, and/or chisel through it next. just a pain in the *** blocking off the fuel lines, and heating this up enough. and already caked this stupid thing in pb blaster lol. stubborn as hell!

any more info please shoot my way!

Funny. You PM'd me and I just happened to run across this thread. I feel your pain. I got to that pointy and thought I was done. No such luck. I ended up having to split the sleeve the ENTIRE way with a cold chisel and hammer.

Not the preferred or safest option but it worked. Once it was completely split I still had to work it with vice grips to get it to break. It's just corroded to the point it's essentially bonded. I live in Ohio so I assume salt and snow didn't help.

Someone had recommended to me an air chisel. Should accomplish the same thing and may even break it without having to go all the way through.

*Be careful with the bolt and threads! I couldn't find any easy access to it and you may have to go into the frame to replace that if you strip or bend it!*

Needless to say, good luck and I hope to never have to do this again.

BTW, there is nothing holding that on other than corrosion. No threads, nuts, anything other than just sheer will.

Grind away. You'll get it.
