So many bushings So little time...

Hello again!

I have a weird noise and after searching for hours I feel no closer to an answer.

Everyone talks about transverse links, lower/upper control arms, bushings for everything, compression rods...AHHHH!!! I am going crazy, someone please help..

When I drive it sounds as if i have a rock sticking out of my tires and it hits the road and makes a bump sound evertime the thing spins around. Its like a thumping sound. Almost to what I am familiar with as being a wheelbearing issue..
But after reading on here some say its something else. I need a way to be able to test these things to see what IS wrong and the correct course of action.

Again, its a thumping sound when I drive at any speed all the time...

OH, and ps, I have access to a shop and tools and a hydrolic press and all that. I will be getting the problem checked by a 'mechanic' this coming weds. but If I can order the correct parts NOW I will be all set to go! Tell me what I have to do. Thanks guys!

i know its not your issue, but I had a recurring noise and at first I thought it was something suspension related, then I thought it was a flat tire...it ended up being a hex head machine screw due to all of the construction by my work...I'm bummed about it, but its not losing any air so I'll get it fixed when I take them off for the winter, which is soon.

Could it be something in your diff or driveline? If its a recurring noise during tire rotation it has to be something related to the wheel motion, not so much a bushing as they are more compression related.

turned out to be wheel bearing in front [aka whole hub replaced] parts + labor, 350 ...

anyways new sound, new problem...

When i accelerate in any sort of quickness i hear a clonking sound....from what i understand it could be TSB ITB05-002b, which talks about greasing up the outer joint of the drive shaft

OR i hear it could be compression rods going in the back? The sound is def. from the rear of the car, and again, under acceleration....knocking or clonking sound for sure...

The TSB for axle click (ITB05-002b) is more of a "ticking" or "clicking" sound on acceleration from a stop. It's not really a clunking or knocking sound. It sounds more like dropping a paper clip into a metal can. At least that's what it sounds like on mine.

The rear suspension doesn't have a compression rod, BTW, but it could be one of the other bushings in the suspension members.

Could it be a U-Joint you think?

Do you mean a u-joint in the driveshaft? I suppose it's possible, though seems unlikely. You'd probably be feeling vibration or shaking in the car if the u-joint was bad. How many miles on the car?

Exhaust related perhaps? Check out all your bolts and connections.
