I sell auto parts for a living and dot 3 is most definitely still sold and sells more than dot 4....... ps there is no non synthetic dot 3 anymore they did change that. . So no synthetic dot 3 will not hurt anything.

All brake fluid is synthetic....unless someone has discovered a tree than oozes polyethylene glycol that I'm not aware of.
