Difference in brake pads based on wheel size?

Sorry if this is a dumb/newb question but I'm buying OEM brake pads for my G and when I went to infinitipartsusa.com to purchase them, it gives me the option of buying w/the 17 inch wheels or w/18 inch wheels.

I'm not sure which pads to buy them for. I have Blizzak tires on my OEM 17" wheels now, but I have summer tires on OEM 18's that I use once the spring rolls around.

The pricing is about $170 more for the 18" wheels, which would be alot for me right now, especially since I'm driving on 17's. My question is, is there a major difference if I buy the pads made for the 17's while I'm driving with my 18 inch wheels on when spring comes? Will they wear the pads down quicker or something?

Someone educate me because I'm not very informed when it comes to this, as you can probably tell by reading this post

Edit: BTW, my coupe is non-brembo. Maybe thats why the pads for 18" wheels are so expensive? They're made for the coupes with the brembo brakes?

Pad size has to do with which calipers you have, not what wheels you have, though they're obviously correlated since you can have the Performance Tire & Wheel package (18" wheels) on a non-Brembo coupe. I'm assuming your coupe is an 03-04 non-Brembo coupe, and if so then you have the smaller calipers/rotors and need the correct pads for that, regardless of which wheels are mounted on the car. The Brembo pads are more expensive, and that's probably what price you're seeing. I would call the supplier and make sure you're getting the right model. It should be for a 5AT (auto coupe) vs. 6MT (Brembo coupe).

Got ya. Yeah I have an 03 5AT non-brembo coupe. Thanks for the information.
