thank god I thought I was alone. I have the exact same issue. Left side as well. I am sitting on Function and Form Type II version2 coilovers. I have megan racing a arms and guess what I did today.

I replaced the lower control arm bushing with a nismo one, and I replaced my banana arm, which I believe is the compression rod AND I still have that CLUNKING SOUND!

This is driving me nuts, I replaced the rod thinking it was the rod clunking, but its not. I thought it was bushing as well because well my bushing was cracking. Obviously neither of them is the culprit for me.

I am going to the dealer to pick up a passenger side lock actuator and a trunk actuator tomorrow. I am going to ask them if a tech could drive my car or something and see if they can get something out of it.

I got an idea though. We should all meet up and go up a driveway or bump to see if we all have the same ****.

Mine makes sound if I go over uneven pavement, turning sometimes, up driveways (driver side wheel first, going slanted), and if on even ground when I brake at low speeds.

Let me know what you guys find out, I'll do the same!

*Edit*

I wanted to say my cars an 2003.5 (I'll look@ what month they assembled it). I got about 76550 miles on it.

Okay I'm at my mechanic right now and I told him its still here (that sound / annoying crap) so he took a look at it again. I named everything we thought it could be so, he started to check the rims moving it north to south. Nothing. But when he lifted the wheel as if hitting a bump, there was a click or bump sound. He took the wheel off and started to check for things and he moved my megan racing A arms and it was loose! So we tightened that down. Now I still haven't driven the car yet because I decided to my belts changed. I'll let you guys know if that was the fix. Update later.

Update-

It was the A arm that was loose, we tightened it and it fixed it. Keep in mind though I thought it was the compression rods, so I did switch them out. Also I did replaced my LCA bushing (just one)

Where was it loose exactly? The 2 bolts holding it to the wheel well or was it loose at the camber adjustment point where the balljoint is?

I am glad you fixed yours. I am off tomorrow so i can work on my car and figue this out.

THANKS FOR THE INFO!!!

It was at the two bolts. When looking at it, the right one was loose. Good luck! This problem bothered me for the longest time.

I am afraid those were the first I re-tightened when I checked last time. Man, I hope I will figure it out tomorrow.

Damn it, I have no luck fixing the problem. I have 2 suspects now, the camber arm and the end link. Both seem functioning okay when I tried to move them thru their entire range of movement. I am attaching the photo of the arm which shows the boot not seated fully. I was able to rotate it(ball joint) 360degress with no problem and also move it in all directions. Did not seem to feel loose or broken- other than the boot. Same thing with the end link,I can point it to all directions and noticed no slop (one end removed from the lower arm). However, when I compared it to the right side, I can't seem to make the right side budge a little- seems like there is not much play when bolted. So I am not sure if you are suppose to be able to move the link sideways while attached/bolted to the lower control arm.

Anyhow, is there anyone else that had this problem that came up with a solution other than what is already mentioned here???

PLS HELP!

I am going to check the lower control arm bushing tomorrow and all the other bushings such as the sway bar bushing. My compression rods were replaced just last year.

Any luck with yours- have you checked the following?

- 3 top nuts for the shock mount
- shock top nut
- upper arm nuts , there is one 17mm that holds the balljoint and there are 2 14mm that hold the other end of the arm to the body
- bottom shock nut
- end link
- bushings on the lower control arm
- camber plate adjustment bolts

As of the last week, I have developed a click that has been driving me insane!

My car is lowered (coilovers), has aftermarket sway bars, rear camber kit, wheel spacers, and has been aligned for the last month.

It started out as a faint click, which has in a matter of about 10 days, turned in to a very loud click/clunk.

It does NOT happen under acceleration or braking. The only time I will hear the noise is when im going up a driveway in an angle or when im driving in a parking lot/street with uneven pavement... and I'm angleling (sp?) in to driveways all the time which makes it a big nuisance

I will never hear the noise at street or highway speeds- only at very low speeds.

I can hear the noise coming from multiple areas (front and rear)- even from the sunroof (I believe this is a separate issue).

The only three things I can think of is:

-My front sway bars need to be lubricated. But I highly doubt sway bars create a "click/clunk" sound.

-My compression rods (bushings) are going bad.

-Axle-click issue, though this doesn't seem the case since this issue is usually associated with acceleration/braking.

I'm hoping this isn't a compression rod issue. I just had my alignment done and will have no choice but to raise the car if I have to bring it in to the dealer.

Any feedback/help would be appreciated.

-Henry

Thanks for the inputs everyone.

I haven't had a chance to try to fix it yet; i'm waiting for the upcoming spring break for that.

I plan on relubing the sway bars, checking the endlinks, making sure all the bolts and nuts on the suspension components are torqued down to spec, and making sure that my rear spring mount (HKS) is staying in place.

Worst case scenario, I'll just take it to the dealer for warranty work (assuming its not any of my aftermarket parts).
