Unhappy Need Help- Click/Clunk on driveways & uneven roads

I need some help/feedback.

As of the last week, I have developed a click that has been driving me insane!

My car is lowered (coilovers), has aftermarket sway bars, rear camber kit, wheel spacers, and has been aligned for the last month.

It started out as a faint click, which has in a matter of about 10 days, turned in to a very loud click/clunk.

It does NOT happen under acceleration or braking. The only time I will hear the noise is when im going up a driveway in an angle or when im driving in a parking lot/street with uneven pavement... and I'm angleling (sp?) in to driveways all the time which makes it a big nuisance

I will never hear the noise at street or highway speeds- only at very low speeds.

I can hear the noise coming from multiple areas (front and rear)- even from the sunroof (I believe this is a separate issue).

The only three things I can think of is:

-My front sway bars need to be lubricated. But I highly doubt sway bars create a "click/clunk" sound.

-My compression rods (bushings) are going bad.

-Axle-click issue, though this doesn't seem the case since this issue is usually associated with acceleration/braking.

I'm hoping this isn't a compression rod issue. I just had my alignment done and will have no choice but to raise the car if I have to bring it in to the dealer.

Any feedback/help would be appreciated.

-Henry

I have the same IDENTICAL problem. I too have coilovers and I've had the noise for about 2-3 months already.

I too have the clunking sound after I installed the Ichiba front cambers about a week ago. 2 weeks prior to installing the front camber, I lowered the car with KW variant 3 and had no clunking sound at all. The thing is, it is only on the left side as well.
I actually got the chance to inspect the arm today and it appears that the boot is not sitted correctly. I don't know what to do at this point.

I changed out the endlinks on mine and it wasn't the problem.

My end link was one of my suspects and it looked fine when I checked it.

I am going to try and tighten the top nut for the shock but it's freakin' hard with the
shock on! I don't have a wrench that has a really deep offset to reach the nut.

It's gotten even worse for me.

Now, I can hear the same deep click/clunk on almost every single thing I do. Uneven pavement while cruising 40mph... click. Driveways... click. On an average 10 mile trip for me, I must hear the same sounds dozens of time.

If I sway the car left to right at any speeds, click.

i thought i read on the forum that it was a bushing on the sway bars... once you take off the sway bar and look at the bushing you will see where it had been clunking.. i dunno.. i swear i came across it on the forum.. i have stillen sways and stock everything else.. it hasn't come back but i bet it will..

The sway bars I have are the Hotchkis V2 with integrated collars. That was a fix for sounds that the V1 had since they had no collars integrated.

Do most people with coilovers get a cluck? I ask because I read about it a lot and mine also cluck ( I have H&R Coilovers ) and I can't find the source of the cluck.

On mine, I can feel it slightly tug that something is giving or releasing stress. It makes a sound now when I brake, when I turn sometimes , go in reverse then brake. Ahh, I am going to take the day off this Friday to have a closer look. I may have to go back to stock arms as I did not have the issue before I installed it.

I hope not because whats the point in spending 1000+ on coilovers if all you end up with is a car that sounds as if it is going to fall apart

btw i took my car to the mechanic and he told me he thinks i have a bad strut witch would suck because i bought my coilovers used to try and save some money... well well see how much i really saved in the end
