i took my capliers off to change rotors and decided to give them a much needed cleaning while there off. However im not sure if its safe or if i should even attempt to split the calipers so i can clean em really good.

how hard its it to JUST split them, clean, and put em back together...i dont want to replace anything!

There's no need to split them, and I'm not even sure you can - there's nothing in the FSM about doing so. Just clean them as they are and you should be fine.

 

i think they do come apart just don't ruin any seals
