Cannot just bump springs +100 lbs/in on same dampers
...they are selling the same Bilstein HD belongs to g35 from 03-05 for 2006 g35 coupe /w sport package. I also saw some people reported their cars lower an inch or so after they installled Bilstien HD.
Can anyone confirm that Bilstein HD models: Manufacturer Part #: F4-BE5-A156-M0, Manufacturer Part #: F4-BE5-A157-M0, Manufacturer Part #: F4-BE5-A158-M0 will work on 2006 g35 coupe /w sport package like OEM because Bilstein database listed those belong to g35 03-05 only? I dont want the car to be any lower because our car already have issues with alignment as OEM.
thanks,

They spec a different rear and they are of any decent design, they should have matched the rebound damping to the higher spring rate. You cannot just add almost 100 lbs/inch on one end only of the car and use the same dampers and expect good results.
Because the rear suspension geometry didn't change, the newer springs probably use a different spacer/cap or something to keep the length equal. Keep in mind the dampers for a G35 Coupe are longer compared to a 350Z, if people installed install dampers made for the Z33 use stock springs, I would not be surprised if the car rides a bit lower. Same issue with 350Z AM springs, despite what I have read on this forum, they are not interchangeable freely with our Coupes. Sure they may fit and bolt up, but the drop you get is lost travel and the F to R rates plus damper differences are going to hose the ride of your car.
If a vendor did not spec a different non-adjustable damper for 2003-2004 at least vs. 2006+ with the sport suspension/19" OEM wheels, then I wouldn't buy from them. I haven't bothered to look up OEM rears to see if they list 2 different sets based on MY, that would be very telling. AM Coilovers which are adjustable in height, rebound and in some cases compression adjustment I can see spec of the same unit for 03-07 G Coupes, like the KW Variant.
But like my B13 (1991 SE-R) that I track, Progress did not just use the same valving for the 350F/250R as the 450F/350R set I have now. If they did, they would be under-damped and compression would be screwed up, too. Sure you could get away with 25-50 lbs/in with same exact dampers, but 100 or close to it, you're going to notice the ride has changed.
OT a little, I was surprised to see the rear alignment differences with the 2006 and sport susp +19" OEM's, IIRC those are only 245 tires rear, but the stock camber spec is some thing like -1.75 deg a side. The entire range on my 2004 MY 6MT w/18's is about -2.5 to -1.8 deg. -2.5 is how they shipped with the 18" 6MT that MY. Currently with 19" Rays LMGT4's and 275 rear tires, I dialed it back to -2.0 and zero rear toe. Much better hookup and still great lateral traction.
