Front Control Arm Bushings *REPLACED*
As many of you know, Whiteline just came out with some bushings for our cars. There is a whole set for the rear end of the car (I didnt need these as I already replaced all of mine with the NISMO hard rubber bushings from www.mynismo.com). They also have newly come out with a set for the front control arms which are known to fail. There haven't been a lot of options for replacing these and whitelines polyurethane version are the pefect compromise of performance and comfort.
I hadn't noticed any noises but I was under my car the other day and this is what I saw.

If you are getting noises on your front end in the suspension and are having a tough time diagnosing the location, take a look at your control arm bushings.
I removed the control arms and this is what is how they look. fatigued and completely worn, they had seperated and were starting to make noises.

Direct comparison of the quality of the bushings. This is the same thing for the strut mount bushings on the control arm as well, with the exception of shorter size.

I also replaced the bushings that the struts mount to. I didnt take any pics of those.
I purchased them off a vender on here: z1motorsports for $95 shipped for all 4 bushings on the front end.
Having driven the car with the new bushings I can definitely say that it is worth changing your bushings especially when such high quality bushings are available now.

I just had the same thing done. I took the car in to have the rotors turned and then the guys walked me out to see where the bushings should be,,,,,,,,,, They were complety gone
!
I was wondering why the G was squeaking so much going over speed bumps or any kind of bump really. Seems good now.

My control arms were kicked forward from the inside too. That way I only got about 8,000 miles on my tires. They are all worn out to the steel belting on the inside tread. They're not cheap either. I have the Michellin Pilot PS2's - 255/35/20, if I get the run flats, it will be about $445.00 each plus the alignment.

I had just put on 2 new Proxes T1R on my fronts. If your bushings are going out or are already bad you will have very bad tire wear only on the front edge. Catch it early and save yourself some expensive tires. Fortunately I caught it early enough.
You will hear them move around as well.

Any special tools to pop these things in/out? I have the clunking/popping sound on the front driver side and I am hoping, this is the culprit.

Its not difficult. You just need to unbolt the arm. If you have an impact wrench that is the way to go.
I had to use a hydrualic press to get the old bushings and and the new bushings in. They are very tight.

i know when i replaced mine on my old 330ci that it made a huge difference in handling and stopping feel.. it didnt feel like the car was build by Toyota and going to run into the intersection anymore.... (to soon?) So i need to do this with the infiniti pretty soon.

Ya. If I were you, I'd get all the whiteline bushings and do all of them at the same time.
I love the polyurethane!
Chris, you should hit me up for an aluminum undershroud. Hook up for locals.

I'm not sure if the AWD uses the same control arms. Take a look at my pictures. Look under your car. They should be the same....
When the bushings are worn you can get clunking sounds as well as abnormal tire wear.
