Control Arm Bushing

The other night when i was swapping my suspension, my upper control arm bushing got hit and punctured and now needs to be replaced.

I figured it would be like $60 to have done, but boy was i wrong. Nissan dealer here in town quoted me $487 for a whole new arm.

If its the whole new arm, they can blow me and i'll put one in myself (its like 2 bolts holding it in anyways, isnt it?)

But i still think that boot can be replaced. Am i wrong or should i start looking for a new arm? It's the drivers side.

What part of it was punctured? Did the boot just rip? I wouldn't even worry about that!

Hahaha^

I would say no rush to fix it, but definitely fix before your next alignment!

OK, good idea then. Buy a whole upper control arm here (or junk yard) and install it yourself. It's NOT hard, just have to have the right sockets and breaker bars because there isn't much room up there.

Try to use a C-clamp to put pressure on the ball joint when loosening/tightening.
