Sway bar bushings... Question

I need to grease them, can I Do this myself or would I have to take off the bushings grease them and then put them back on or can I just get under the car and put the grease around them? thanks.

I need to get rid of that knocking sound.... comp bushings already replaced along with the sway bushings.

Take off, grease the insides and put back on. Not a big job, though, and a relatively easy DIY. Use a synthetic grease such as Permatex Ultra-Slick, not petroleum-based. Are these aftermarket bushings, i.e. polyurethane?
