i have an 05 sedan with sport suspension. went to autozone and oreilly's for front brake pads. told them 05 infiniti g35 sedan non brembo. both places gave me smaller pads than what i have on the car. am i doing something wrong here? pads on the car are about 6.5" long and the ones they keep selling me are about 5".

 

First, no 2005 came with Brembos, and the Sedan never had them. My guess is that both places are trying to sell you the older, smaller pads designed for non-Brembo 03-04 (and 05x), single piston G35's. Ask for 2006 pads so there's no confusion. Better yet, stick with OEM since they're outstanding and are probably better than any aftermarket pad for regular daily use.
