Raising the G

I have one of the weirdest questions for you...I have a 2005 G35 coupe fully loaded.

First of all, I know, its summer, but winter will approach in 6 months quicker then wanted, but it will happen. Anyways, i was looking at dropping my car alittle bit, but the thing is, the car is already low for winter and winnipeg as is, so I was wondering if there is some sort of mod I can do where i can lower my car, but then raise it during winter really easily. I'd also prefer to raise the car higher then stock during winter, not much, just enough to give me a little more 'grace' (like .5 - 1 inch)

For anyone wondering, car drives excellent in the winter (granted you have winter tires), just have to worry about bottoming out.

The other thing i was thinking of doing to raise the car was bigger winter tires, right now there 235/50/17 I believe, but i was thinking of increasing the side profile to maybe get a little height out of that. All in all I would want to raise the car about 1 inch.

Basically speaking, what suspension mod will allow me to drop the car in the summer by a little, but raise it in the winter relatively easily (above stock height)

And no, i don't want any hydro's or air bags or whatever to hop my car around. Just something really basic. (cheaper)

You can still bag it without having your car jump around, and that'd probably be your best bet.

The problem is... that is your ONLY option. You can pick up a used set for around 700CAD.

everything
Just park it and buy a winter car.

Coilovers (your best option) are gonna run a lot more than a POS car that you drive in the winter.

Who wants to have salt and corrosion on an Infiniti...?

Bags I would not trust on a dd, especially if it is seeing snow, etc. Coils would work but kinda annoying at the same time, especially with alignments and such.

I would just buy a beater.

Its not that bad for winter, everyone thinks that this car is special in someway that it can't handle it. it can, its just deeper snow that it doesn't like lol.

beater would cost min 2000 and i like my G. I'm having it rust proofed sometime this summer as well, so corrosion won't be as much of an issue...i also wash it once a week atleast. I live in Winnipeg, not Toronto or vancouver, many don't know but salt doesn't really react with your paint unless the temperature is close to or above freezing temperature, and our winters are WAY below freezing temp (-15 celcius and colder)

how much (height) could I safely get out of coilovers?

depends on the coilovers... most people don't pay attention to raise limits, but I believe almost all coilovers allow you to raise 1" over stock.
