are these pads worn out?
Sorry guys but i'm an idiot when it comes to these things.
Can you look at this picture I took today and tell me if these front pads need replacing. I know its been a while since they were replaced.
Rotors might be shot too Car has 90k and I never replaced the rotors.
Thanks!

If you are a really easy and smooth driver, 90K on a 2005 and newer is not that uncommon. If you don't hear a squealing/grinding when you apply the brakes they are most likely OK for now. Have them checked, if you haven't run them down to bare metal yet, the rotors may be saved by a little cheap machine work.

Thanks for the advice guys.
I bit the bullet and got new pads and rotors from firestone today for 410 after tax.
I drive back and forth from miami to fort lauderdale(40 miles plus) a day, so I figured its better to be safe than sorry.
I had the original rotors and besides some bad pulsing when braking at high speeds, the g35 still stopped pretty well.

^ yikes...
honest i didn't think the pads needed to replace. unless you bought it new and put those 90k yourself.. i would think someone replaced them once at some point but the damage is done.
YIKES at the 410 price, i just ordered front pads/rotors and rear pads and rotors for my dad's maxima cost me $112.xx SHIPPED i'm doing the work myself but even if you took it to a shop it would be like $200 to install everything. Its too late now but next time if you dont need something ASAP poke around in terms of pricing, you overpay places like firestone because of convenience and thats about it.

3rd set of front pads (rotors turned the first time) and will probably replace the back rotors soon.

Yes maxes are lower in cost but I was just saying, he could of saved some cash doing a bit of research online. He spent some time posting, he could of looked on rockauto or amazon for these prices, firestone most likely just got some generic stuff like semi-met pads. But whats done is done.
