Suspension Pop Noise

When ever I hit the brakes at low speeds, my front driver side suspension pops (make a creeking sound then, pop that can be heard and felt in floor board). The sound has gotten louder and more frequent. I had my compression rod bushings replaced today! Noise still there.

My car is lowered on 350z revised springs and shocks, hotckiss sways front and back.

I did lots of searching and the only thing I can come up with is the strut is hitting the compression rod arm. How or why, i have no clue.

Any other ideas? My end links look good, compression rods are new, strut bushings are new.

Help me please.

Make sure the nut at the top of the upper mount is torqued down tightly.... If it's not you will get popping. I dealt with that issue for a while.

Hey man, I'm going to be up in PA tomorrow thru Monday... If you'll be around after that I'm happy to help you out.

The bolt I'm referring to is the one in the picture below that they are unscrewing to take the top mount off and remove the spring...

It could be a loose top shock not, but it could also be a bad shock. I am facing the same issue right now. I just installed D-specs all around, and was having a slight popping/jiggling noise from the right front. I checked it out, found the top nut to be tight, and everything else was good too (new compression rod bushings, end links were tight, a-arms were tight, etc.). The installer checked it out and then put my old shock back on to compare, and the noise went away. When I compress the D-spec shock (now that it's been removed), there is a click/pop when the rod starts to go into the shock. Time for a replacement.

ive had two sets of shocks and spring combos on the car. first i had, hotckiss z springs and z shocks, now I have zsprings and shocks. Different shocks each time. I buy my springs and shocks already assembled. I will try torquing that bolt but i dont think thats it. when it makes the pop, sometimes the car lurches forward.
