Ok, so I bought an 06 G35 coupe. The previous owner got it dropped to about
1"- 1 1/2" from the ground. I'm obviously having problems doing normal things like getting in my driveway, getting the oil changed, etc. So I want to get it raised to the factory height. Could someone tell me how I find out what all I'm gonna need to do that without paying someone to look at it? I have no idea if the guy just changed the springs, or if there is non factory shocks on it or what. Any ideas?

Shocks shouldn't matter if they are changed unless they are true style coilovers. Take a picture of the springs/struts through the wheels and post it. A simple switch to some oem struts and springs will fix your problem

I opened this ready to rip you apart for putting 22s on your car.
Take a look inside wheel well. If the struts are a different colour, you're golden. Just take it to a shop and tell them to lift your coils about an inch. (unless they say Koni or Tociko, then you need new springs)
If your SPRINGS are a different colour, trade them with a local looking to go a little lower. If your springs are black look for something on them that says Eibach it will be printed on a portion of the coil that faces you. If Nissan is printed on there, you need to buy a new car because your car is only lowered .5" and you're bad at driving.
Green springs= Tein S tech
Gold Springs= Tein H tech
Red Springs= Tanabes or Skunk2
Other colour, take a photo and we'll tell you.

Also you might want to say how high you want to go and if you have performance struts or coilovers if you want to keep them or not

Yo Stinger........here's something I recently posted on another thread; pics at the bottom. A drivers side view this post, opposing views in another (if necessary).
I've an 06 Coupe, also, which after 3-1/2 years I finally lowered with Tein H-Tech 350Z springs. Perfect setup for me; best of all worlds. Here goes:
Tein 350Z H-Techs........no problems whatsoever, either. Riding on 20x9.5 RearS / 20x8.5 Fronts with 275/30ZR20 and 245/35ZR20 Tires.
And for my money, in terms of overall balance it's one of the best G35 Coupe setups, if not THE best on balance:
1. Spring rates: Essentially the same, i.e, not too much stiffness or softness from stock sport-tuned rates. Take a look at the rear spring rates for Tein G35 springs - either ones, S-Techs or H-Tech.......rates in the upper 200s? NNNNNNo. Way too soft.
2. No need for expensive camber kits to align, and I'm talking a couple/few hundreds more than the cost of the springs, installed.
This is due to .8 or less still allowing for mfg. specs to be met when re-aligning; 350Z H-Techs drop the.8 front/.7 rear (or, .5 more than the 350Z).
3. Aesthetics & Function: It's barely noticeable visually, but still noticeably enhances ride, handling, and performance (a little on performance; more responsive throttle due to less drag).
Seems to also be working well with the sport-suspension package shock upgrade. Trurst me, I've gone over some familiar uneven roads @ higher speeds than I realized. Thankfully, no outta control hopping, bouncing, bottoming out, or destroying the undercarriage like I was concerned might happen.
Still, I've seen all sorts setups, some with drops twice what I have. None are really bad, just a matter of choice based your desires.
