caliper wearing

Is there any tests you can do to see if your calipers are wearing out?

Not calipers.

The rust is probably normal, it is in a busy spot of the car. Post a pic.

The shaking is probably a warped rotor or unevenly warn pad.

ill post a pic tomorrow. come to think of it they are warped unevenly. should i just replace those first then if that doesnt work the calipers? from what i know theres really no way to test a caliper other than taking it off and taking it to a shop.

I highly doubt the caliper is shot. Just do pads and rotors and you'll be good.

How many miles on your car?

yup, your rotors, usualy the vibration happens when braking. you will be able to feel it on ths steering wheel. you either A) need to resurface your rotors or B) get new rotors... and obviously new pads :P

good luck sir!

Shakes only when braking? Likely rotors or pad wear as others say.

If it shakes all the time, check your wheels - air pressure, rebalancing, odd tire wear, etc. Likely tires if the shaking changes when the tires warm up.

^ yea it's only breaking

I'm willing to bed that in 100k (160kms) that the brakes have definitely been done. If they haven't then you bought a total heap of ****.

Centric premium rotors are very high quality at a decent price. Can get them from rockauto.com or tirerack.com.
