question on my wheel setup please help.

Hey i am new to this forum and i am trying to figure out how to complete my wheel setup and figure out what parts i need. I am trying to put 20" petrol vengance wheels on my 2003 g coupe. The wheel specs are front (20x8.5)+40 offset rear(20x10.5)+25 offset i am also wanting to lower the car with tein s techs. Now i have been doing some research on this forum and have become confused. My question is for this wheel setup am i going to need a camber kit or new control arms? from looking on some threads people say that yes you definitely need a camber kit and others say you just need a good alignment. Also what tire size should i run on these rims? if anyone could help me out i would appreciate it.

Heres is what the rims look like on the car sorry i dont know how to post pics on these forums.

The one thing I DO know is that a +40 offset is for a Sedan. The coupe offsets are in the teens.

If you keep your drop to 1" or less, you will usually not need camber arms and/or bolts for it.

Those wheels DO look awsome BTW...

Like Texasscout said, you will only need camber, if you drop your vehicle. As for tires size, that depends on the look you want. Take a look at this link, it has pics of different size wheels and tires size. Find the look you want and then you pick tire size and I would recommend some spacers since your offsets are high for a coupe.

I am so confused, the smaller the offset the bigger the lip is am i right? the front wheels have a very small lip and the rears are at least 3.5" in those photos. Is it not possible to run a +40 offset on the front on a coupe? here are the wheel specs in 20", i know the rears will work but i cant figure out what the front wheels are on that car. Are those 20s or 19s on that car i cant tell from the picture, to me they look like 20s.

20 X 8.5 5X114 +20
20 X 8.5 5X114 +40

20 X 10 5X114 +25
20 X 10 5X114 +40

Ok i think its making sense know thanx for the link. so pretty much im going to have to use spacers front and back to make this setup work flush.

Which you should only do if you HAVE to. I think spacers are a safety issue (especially if you run it hard like I do now and then), however there are many that think otherwise.

You should order your wheels with the proper offset so you won't have to use spacers. I believe the original purpose of spacers is to clear BBK, most use it to get the flush look. I don't think spacers are a safety issue if installed correctly and if a good set is use not some cheap ebay brand. But some will tell you otherwise. The most important thing is to order the proper offset. 40 is too high, I would go with low teens or single digit. Unless you want to go really aggressive and get 0 or negative offsets.

The only reason I say they are a safety issue is that most tracks will not let you run with them.

^Good point, don't know from personal experience, since I don't track. But I have heard that statement before. I think if OP is not goint to track he should be ok, if he decides to track then he should take them off.
