Abnormal bounciness on Coilover

hi guys. i finished installing my stance gr+, and have played around with the height and preload for couple of days.
I don't know why but my car is crazy bouncy with 14/14 damping. It's like a old ghetto cadillac or oldsmobile. Bounciess up and down crazy everywhere.
The front, i raised the collar against the spring enough so that i'm NOT be able to turn the spring by hand.
The rear, I didn't raise as much as the front so i can turn the rrear springs by hand but really hard.
IIRC, when i had the preload near zero, it was hella bouncy. Afterward i put more preload, it became little less boucy but still very bouncy.
Should i keep raising the collar until it's not bouncy or should i set it the zero again and try something from there? Some members said the bounciness will not go away as how much you raise the collar won't affect the spring rate on linear springs.
Most of coilover owners said to set the preload to zero and they have very nice ride. But i don't know what happened to mine. It's NEW directly sent from Stance.
I;m really sick of taking off and on my wheels as i did it so many times..wanna get it done..

I just recently installed my set of stance Gr, Are you turning the dampening the right way? To the left for stiff? Sounds dumb that i ask that but you never know haha

Btw how do you know that you preload is 0? I just did mine until the spring didnt really move and it rides very smooth.

the optimal preload for "performance" on these coilovers is making the collar "snug" on the spring.

then adjust the dampers to your liking.

They will be more stiff than OEM and will feel bouncy until the springs settle...give it time

use I turned the damowning to the right direction.
I know that it's close to zero because the collars were snug against the spring.
did you use a wrench to raise the collar against the springs or hand raised until u couldn't anymore?

aren't the coilover suppose to not settle? like they r already settled or something.

every spring will settle...

snug meaning hand tight and locked

^ every other stance owners said their riding was very nice after installation. So i'm guessing no time for spring settle.
Even if i raise the preload super high, the car shouldn't be bouncy like a ghetto muscle car.
This bounciness is not from the car being stiff...Should i raise the collar more?

On my behalf, mine rides very nice, i hope it actually does get stiffer though.
I think it would be best to call Stance and ask them directly, maybe you have a defective part?

i doubt it's defective LOL.
I called Stance twice. he didn't really know what's up with the coilover. he said there's no right or wrong in adjusting coilover. So if the car is bouncy then raise the collar against the spring until i like it.
If the damper is damaged, he'll pay shipping and everything but if not, then ihave to pay for the shipping to get the coilover to my house.

you should have a shop check it out... explaining to other is different than having it physically checked.

i thought maybe some other stance owners had the same problem..maybe not.
i cranked up the collar against the spring and springs are now compressed to 6.6 inches in length. It rides somewhat like a champ but could still be stiffer lol

you could just order some stiffer springs from stance

Really weird to have your coils that bouncy, I don't have stances but my f&f are stiff as heck around 14/14, I can't do full stiff haha. Here is a thread with some nice preloading help, might want to make sure the way you set yours is similar to this: http://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-s...eload-diy.html

the diy is what i exactly did but the car seemed to be still crazy bouncy. As i tried cranking up the collars against the springs, thr bounce was going away. And by the time i set the preload, the spring length to 6.6inch, the ride was much better. But i still want to shorten the springs more. my dampenings are set to full stiff
