Form and Function Type II Question

Ok, so maybe I'm an idiot, but as I progressed through my suspension install today, I came across a problem. The problem is that the rear struts don't bolt up to the control arm. As in the stock bolt doesn't thread the strut tower bottom on the rear struts. Do they come with new bolts for it? Maybe I'm missing something..

By the way, the car is a 2003 G35 coupe, don't know if that matters.

The bolt should fasten properly with the threads on the shocks. And with most replacement after market shocks (the G35 doesn't use struts by the way), you have to use the original bolt.

What kind of shock is it. The paint on the shocks may be too thick, preventing the bolt from going on smoothly. Use more force to strip the paint away with the bolt.

Yes, I agree, the bolt should seat and fasten properly and use the stock bolt (as all that was the same on my old car when I lowered it), however, one hole is smaller on one side of the shock (sorry, still new to the G scene) and does not have threads, meaning I'll have to get a nut.

It's a Function and Form Type II shock (I have a full F&F set up) I thought the same thing about the paint, but its truly the metal. I'm thinking maybe the F&F's came with a bolt that I didn't get when I bought used?

Check out post #18 in this thread. You have to drill out the holes to make your stock bolt fit.

Did you just buy it new? I had the problem along with a few others, I contacted them and they paid to have it shipped back to them and replaced it with the correct size and shipped it back with no cost to me. They said they were correcting it for the next production though...

Holy old thread yes. But its mine also haha. Anyway, I FINALLY got around to finishing my F&F Type II install on the rears. They ride awesome.

My next question is for those brah's with the F&F2's: when adjusting the firmness, which way on the + and - is firm and which way is soft? I'm not happy with how firm they are, I want to loosen them up and soften the ride. Thanks for the answers!
