Uneven pad wear

I changed my rear brake pads bc there was a grinding noise when I would brake coming from the rear. When I took the rear pads off the inner pad on each side was worn to the metal but the outer pad on each side had a good amount of pad left (30-40%). Is this normal on the brembo pads? I'm pretty sure the pads were original from the factory as I only have 39k miles (I bought the car w/20k miles on it).

Thanks

Are the Brembo's floating or non-floating? (i beleive non)

Usually uneven pad wear is due to some part of the caliper seizing up and sticking. On floating type calipers, its usually the slide pins. It could also be a piston.

You should inspect the calipers completely and check for anything that looks like it's sticking.

both pistons seem to be working fine. I'm not sure what you mean by floating/non-floating... the pads do just sit between the pistons and rotor and are held in by pins at the top, they were real easy to replace.
