Brembo vs. Stock 04 Coupe Brakes

I'm on the verge of purchasing some brembos for my 04 6mt coupe (which once had them, but were sold by the previous owner). I do a lot of spirited driving, and experience a lot of brake fade, and overall $hitty braking for a car this heavy.

I was told by a friend that the brembos won't give me much improvement over my current set up (OEM single pistons with Project MU NS pads), aside from less fade, and that my stopping distance will not be improved at all.

I wanted to find out if this is true or not, and what real improvements I can expect from the brembos besides making me smile from looking at them every time I walk up to the car!

I believe brembo's stop a bit better than oem pre 05+ brakes, is it going to be a huge difference? Probably not. Fade should be better though. If you have the money I would rather go for akebono's or start buying an actual bbk setup if performance is key.

Not so much extreme performance, not enough to justify a BBK at least. So the overall performance gains would be minimal in the braking department?

It would be better, just don't expect a BBK performance. Now looks is enough to justify it for many, myself included in the future, but I personally would save up and go with the akebono's which are nicer and look better imo, not to mention new vs years old.

What kind of tires are you using? If you want better braking distance, stickier tires should be on the shopping list too.

While I've never tried the regular brakes of a G, the Brembos rotors do have more mass and therefore more heat absorption ability. The four piston front/two piston rear also gives you better feel and clamping force on the rotors.

Personally I've never been disappointed with the Brembos and I drive fairly aggresively and autox a fair amount.
