MDU non true coilover setup HELP

I just got some MDU coilovers and I need some help setting them up bc I have no idea on how or what the right way of doing this. I already installed them but I dont know how to get the "perfect" ride/comfort from them.

1. Which way is the stiff vs soft on the dampening ****? I am getting mixed facts from people. Right for stiff and left for soft? or Right for soft and left for stiff?

2. Setting up the REAR. This is a NON TRUE setup so tell me if I am doing this wrong or going about it the wrong way... Adjust the spring bucket to my "ideal" height using the spring bucket. Once my ideal height is found, adjust the shock body to that height? But how do I know the appropriate length for the shock body to the spring bucket?

3. Setting up the FRONT. Compress the spring as much as possible, with the coilover on the car, match up the shock body end length to the mounting point of the suspension. once done, unwind the spring preload so the car rises up to the idea height?

Tell me if im doing this correctly.. its been a complete nightmare with coilovers.. and Im now getting some weird sounds after the install from the front.. its a clunking noise every single time i turn to the left or the right.

the way it seems youre doing the rear, you have ZERO preload, and most say its good to have a little bit of preload.

Find the desired height via the spring bucket, once you have that, raise the spring bucket via jack anywhere from 5mm-1/2inch for normal preload (dont ask me what normal is, lol, thats just most) and adjust shock body to fit at that height. Then tighten everything, lower jack, voila!

To tell you honestly. I was very skeptical about buying these but they are actually very good. They have a good rep. with the swang and bang fellas. I had a little bit of trouble learning how to set it up but after I worked out the kinks, its awesome! I was a very big noob with coilovers.

Sorry for reviving old thread but i hve. same question with my stance gr+ oem style rears. I have no idea how to adjut th rear for ride height. Obviously the length is different so when i adjust spring height on oem spring bucket, how do i know how much height to adjust on the threaded shock body?
