Infamous BC coilover rattle

iv been searching on the forum, and tried pretty much everything, and i still cant get the rattle gone.

The noise seems to be coming from both sides of the rear. im pretty sure its both sides. its almost hard to tell because at times it sounds like its coming from the middle

about a week ago i installed my BC BR coilovers with meagan racing rear camber arms and spc toe bolts. now i can hear a distinct rattle from the rear when going over any sort of bump or uneven surface. The rattle was not there in the first 20 mins of driving the car with the suspension to get an alignment, but only after. But i dont think its an issue with the alignment.

i have had wheels off and tested the pre load. i cant budge the spring in its cup with load off the system. i also twisted the shock a little more to make sure it was tight tight.

everything its tight under there. i noticed that i can push on the trunk with my weight, and it will click (which is like the rattle) and i can also pull on the fender back up and make it click again.

its like a hollow rattle/click/clunk

i have emailed BR racing on Sunday and have yet to get a reply. i tried calling but was put straight to answering machine

handling still seems to be great

I dont think its the height issue either. these are the only 2 pics i have so far that you can see the height

What kind of rear coils do you have? The one that use the OEM Rubber bottom mount or the one that use the metal seats?

The coils i have, use the stock bottom rubber mout. It's the oem style where the spring and shock are separate.

It's the progressive spring style. Fat in the middle

Is it possible the noise might be coming from your rear camber arms and not the coils? Since those are new as well it wouldn't hurt to check them if you haven't already.

I looked at every point where there could be metal on metal contact, and failed to see any marks.

I did notice that when loooking at the camber arm where it attaches to the body on the driver side it's like this / compared to the bolt. That's when there is no load on the wheel.

similar how?

it has lasted a while now (since first post)

one thing i have noticed is that, its been around 6-12 degrees C here and the noise stops.. it will happen only when i get out of the car, making the pop sound.. it only seems to come back while driving, when it is 20-30 degrees C outside

when you say everything is tight, does that include the adjustment collars / rings on the shock body of each strut. they can loosen up after driving...

I had a rattle similar to this with my BC coilovers and after some work I noticed that my rear spring and struts were not adjusted at the same height anymore. I was trying to raise the rear of my car up just a little bit since my tires were rubbing, so I raised the spring and forgot to raise the strut also which caused the strut to max out and rattle around. I dont know if this is the same issue your having its just more of an idea.

the collars are tight. it has been rattling since the install.. its not nearly as bad anymore. possibly they have settled? im not sure whats going on. i have tried to contact BC racing numerous times, but have received no call or email back. im not impressed at all.

rear preload is set. i cant move the spring at all when i lift the wheels off the ground.

Without load you should be able to move the spring around a little bit. I fixed my rattle. It turns out I had stripped out the nut that holds the rear shock in place at the top. Went to Lowe's, torqued to spec, done. No more rattle.
P.s. Email tech@bcracing-na.com, that's what I did and they responded to me within a few hours.

Soooo that was everybody's infamous bc rattle stripped rear top shock nut? It's been 3 years since last post in here bc must have upgraded them nuts...

Everybody has nice quiet bc br coilovers now? I only ask cuz I am considering/about to purchase these...

For oem rear style and true fronts what spring rate for maximum comfort can I get away with whilst lowering 1 - 2 inches on my 59 year old dads g coupe? 7k front 5k rear? 8/6? 9/7? 10/6? I want smooth but no rubbing D:

Also I am worried the 245/35/19 on 19x8.5 10 offset fronts are going to need too much negative camber to not rub for his liking/age group D:

I sincerely apologize for all my grammar mistakes and being so noob-like and asking too many questions and saying too much things

Yep
