The compression rod bushing, yes, you can get it seperately from Nissan, the ball joint, no, might get it aftermarket somewhere, but through nissan it's not seperate from the compression rod

Sorry to jump in on the thread, but I'm a total newbie and want to resolve this issue as least painful as possible given that I plan to sell in one year.

I got excessive inner tire wear on the front right tire of my '03 coupe, the tire center guys showed me what appeared to be the bushings to be shot on both sides and a leaky front right strut. From what I gather, I do not need to replace the forward lower control arm but, just in theory, the bushings on the compression rod. Since I want to minimize the expense and don't have access to a press to change out the bushings.

I'm just planning change out the compression rod for now. Can some one confirm that thats all I should change out considering I haven't noticed the any performance issue (leave strut or front lower control arm as is)?

Finally I've seen varying prices for the compression rod ranging from 200+ per rod at the dealership, avg price seems to be around $175 at the Infiniti parts online sites/variations of such. I found the cheapest to be at rockauto.com for around $90. Description matches but I'm a little skeptical about such a price difference. part numbers seem to match, but maybe they don't include bushings?

Can anyone give me some insight as to if 1) I'm on the right track towards resolving my excessive inner tire wear issue. 2) $90 is a reasonable online price for the compression rod incl. bushing?

If you can see in the picture above, the compression rod, it has a ball joint. If the ball joint is in good condition without any clunky sound and you can assess this, just replace the bushing. All really depends on this: How many miles are on the G and for how long you want to keep it?

Anyone using Mevotech Aftermarket Parts??

With 189,000 miles on my 2003 G35 Sedan (non-sport) and counting, I need to replace my compression arm bushings/ball joints because they are shot. I always felt OEM parts were better, but after reading much negative publicity on the OEM compression arm bushings and ball joints, I wondered if going aftermarket would be smarter? Not looking for performance gains, just want the stock feel. I see that Mevotech makes compression arms (they call them control arms, whatever) Part # MS30163 Left; MS30164 Right. Got this info from Rock Auto Parts Website. Anyone using these and if so, how are they holding up?
