thumping noise on bumps
thumping noise on bumps
I have an 06 G35 6MT Sedan with 72k miles. I've noticed a thumping sound out of the front driver's side (and sometimes the front passenger side) when driving over brick roads or speed bumps.
Sound does not clearly sound like metal on metal, but it might be. There's almost a hollowness to it. Any ideas? Worn out bushings maybe? Suspension is 100% stock and original.
Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. I removed the rear wheels, checked the pads and the calipers and noticed nothing out of place. Unfortunately the noise is being caused by something else.
I see the other threads about compression rods. Any chance I've got the same issue. I didn't see a clear cut list of symptoms with a bad compression rod.
Any other thoughts?

Hey man. I'm having a similar issue. Its coming from the rear passenger side area and thumps only on certain types of roads, and upon turning the car on. Everything was quiet until I swapped in a coupe midpipe, fit with no issues and was tightened down.not sure if my struts are going bad? Did you fix your issue? I've got an 06 sedan 6mt.
