BC coil-over question/ issue

I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I searched on the topic and could not find the answer to my problem. I have an 05 G35 Coupe and I just installed the BC Racing Type BR coils. I am having problems with the rears and am wondering if it is a common issue, or if I may have the incorrect shocks. I cannot set the ride height (spring) collars all the way up (to lower) while keeping a pre-load on the springs. I have my shock threaded all the way into the mount, but in order to keep any type of pre-load, I have to lower the spring collars. I have installed coil-overs in the past and have never had this issue while setting rear pre-load, so the only thing it could seem to be is the length of the shock is too long for the range of adjustment on the spring perch. I have emailed BC but have yet to receive a response. Am I missing something obvious? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a picture of what I am talking about, there is a gap between the collar and the spring. The shock is as far down as it can be set. Sorry its a crappy phone picture. And the large size.

I contacted bc and they didn't help at all. They said my shocks were the correct ones (sent them measurements). I do not see anything binding, so I'm not really sure what the deal is. Any suggestions?

something isnt right there. The black plastic ring should sit snugly up against the gold ring. I would take it all apart and see if they fit with them not being installed on the car. There is something there causing it to not sit flat

Because someone installed them wrong? I run the BC setup and they went on the car without a single hitch and it rides great.

They are installed correctly, I have checked and rechecked everything. There is a stop in the bottom of the lower shock mount that stops the shock from being threaded down past a certain point, I have the shock set as low as possible (threaded in) and the spring does not even touch the plastic sleeve that sits between it and the gold ring. In order to run preload on the rear spring I have to lower the height adjustment rings. The car sits relatively low, but it should be able to go lower while keeping preload on the springs. I have uninstalled them and re-installed them several times trying to find something that is possibly binding but I have not found anything. After driving on the coilovers they do ride great where they are at, and I have basically made the decision to just deal with it at the height it is. If anyone has some useful ideas of what could be binding or what I could possibly be missing I would still greatly appreciate it, otherwise it is what it is. The preloads are all set properly where they are at now, just maxed low.

Can you take a better picture of the setup so we can see?

Here are a few I have already taken. I will be getting it aligned tomorrow so I can take more then if these are of no help.

Here is the shock (threaded all the way in), you can see the spring in the lower corner and the gap.

This is the lower mount and the stop ring.

The shock measurement, which I sent to BC and they said it was correct. If anyone has measurements on theirs that they can verify this that would be awesome.

I had the same exact problem as you, i just had to put it to where it was snug and deal with the height. I also got a set of 12k 230mm springs, but they barely go low enough.

That's basically what I have decided to do. The car is sitting pretty low as it is, any lower and I would just have to add more rear camber to keep the toe in with the spc bolts. Sitting at -2 degrees right now. It rides nice and no clunking or odd noises so even with them not being able to go any lower I am still happy with it.
