Brake Squeal

My brakes started squealing under light pressure (at low speeds) a few months ago, and it has been progressively getting worse. Based on the tones, I know it's at least 2 or 3 wheels. I took it in to Les Schwab a couple months ago and they said my brakes are "awesome", so I know the pads don't need to be replaced due to wear. They said it's probably just a hard spot on the pad that will eventually go away, but it's just getting worse.

Any ideas on what I can do?

take the pads off and inspect them. feel the rotor for any grooves. maybe even just wash them.

I am actually having the same problem. I took my car to Goodyear and they said that everything was tip top...that the type of brake pads I have on them squeal sometimes. I dunno.

Well, I ordered some Akebono ceramic pads (all 4 wheels) and will just replace them all. A shame since these brake pads are only about a year old. Oh well.
