Lowering a G35c 6MT
Lowering a G35c 6MT
I have a 2003 g35 coupe 6mt(w/ brembos) and I have 20" rims that are 255 in the front and 285 in the rear. I like the Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs I want to make sure that I don't have issues with fender rubbing on the tires. Don't want to have to fool around with camber, etc a straight drop of .75-1" back 1-1.25" front. The car has 62000 miles should I get new shocks as well?
It's going to depend on your wheel's offset as well. If you have a low negative offset, your wheels will stick out more which would cause you to rub. Generally, if you have a high offset, 20 or higher, and prokit, which is very mild, and you shouldn't have issues with rubbing, but you'll never know unless you try it. Also, just getting the fenders rolled is not a bad idea, just to have it done. Keeps your options open for the future. And speaking of camber, after you lower, you're going to need an alignment.
In my opinion, 20" wheels accentuates the wheel gap even more, a 1" drop is not enough for 20" wheels, again, that's my opinion.

Totally depends on the offset of the wheels, even brand and model tire, that will determine if you'll rub. I'd recommend rolling the fenders as well just to have your options open in the future.
