Question g35 Tein s Techs

Im in the process of MABEY buying some twin S techs, The person selling my them is only had them for 6 months and is upgrading to coils etcc.
The price is 100 and I would like to know should I buy them?
and If you had them how much of a drop did you get?

I know they have charts and other stuff telling you how much of a drop to expect in the from and rear, I just want to know personal numbers because everyones is a little diff

And please don't say save your money for coils, I am saving my money for coils just want a small drop to close the wheel gap for the time being, I'm planning on buying coils later and selling these which I should get a fair amount back for

thanks

$100 for springs isn't too bad. If you're looking for a temporary fix, it might be worth it for you. Personally I'd just save the trouble and go straight to coilovers when you have the cash but to each their own.

S-Techs are not a mild drop, they get pretty low after the springs have had time to settle in and sag a little.

The spring mount mod and the Tein S-Techs are not for a mild drop closing the gap at the top of the tires. They'll lower your front 1 1/2" front and just over an inch out back. Be aware lowering your G any amount will require your getting a complete camber kit for both ends or you'll destroy your tires quickly. The SPL camber kit is close to $1K installed. Maybe you "Should" wait until you have a couple $K before dropping your G? BC coilovers around $1K plus the camber kit installed will put you at $2K and you will have lowered the right way without spending $K more on tires....your choice!

you dont need to buy camber kits, just have your front and rear toe in spec (close to 0) and be prepared to flip your tires every 8k miles. you will probably need new SPC toe bolts for the rear which cost about $40. the front toe is fully adjustable

the SPL camber kits are for slammed rides because they have so much adjustability hence the high price

Im thinking of going for 350z twin s techs for 180 shipped, Im a high school student and I'm balling on a budget lol, I don't got 1k to spend on coil overs. I mean I have it but i got other priorities like college.
I don't drive a ton, the roads in my area are ok ( not to many speed bumps etch.) and I'm pretty car full I just want the wheel gap gone and the car to look clean

In the future Ill add money to it

what do you guys think

Do it. You'll be fine for the most part as long as you have rear toe bolts to fix the rear toe after the drop.

Do it right the first time, don't listen to members lack of knowledge!

This....^....is a line of crap we hear way too often here on DRIVER! So you think flipping tires every 8K miles is a good idea? Front tires with correct alignment should last twice that long....30K rather than 16K. With the cost of quality tires you're better off getting the camber kit from day one. Plus, when your alignment is at -1.50+ it's not going to steer like it should and then there's the dreaded ROOOOOAR when the steel belts are about to show thru. There's only one way to lower our rides, camber kits and alignment! Have any doubts, ask the tech doing your alignment how far off OE specs you are. If I'm not at or close to -.50 I'm wasting those $400 each tires....Gary

Not really. We here it way too often because its true. Toe kills tires not camber. There is no need to spend 1000 on camber kits when you are lowered on H Techs.

Steering performance will be improved with more negative camber up front. Thats why you see formula 1 cars with crazy camber up front.

^ Exactly, front camber is not a horrible thing. It would be nice to control how much camber you have though.

Beyond all of that camber adjustment, performance or tire wear and what not, rear toe is just dangerous.

If anything, I'd be more concerned about the struts going out prematurely.
