S tech prings vs. Megan Coilovers

Aside from saving myself a lot of money am I really missing out with coilovers? (The ones I'm looking at are Megan or BC)

I want a decent drop but I really don't want to hassle with camber kits and stuff like that. I'll be sticking with 19" rims but they will be aftermarket. I've seen some pics of the s tech springs and they seem to do the job, as do H&R springs.

It's going to be a daily driver and I don't want to deal with rubbing issues....any input is greatly appreciated! Would I be OK with just the springs and not having to worry about camber kit or anything? And with the tires I'll probably just stick to factory size offset.

BTW I'm new I just picked up an '06 g35 coupe 6speed. LOVE IT. Step up from my Integra...VTEC has nothing on the G's LOL!

Or if someone has some input on other springs that will give a good drop that is appreciated as well.

The S-tech(z version) with the spring mount cut 1/2inch. Does give out a lil negative camber(minimum but its there) its a decent drop if you really dont wanna go that low just enough to cover up most of the gap thats there with oem springs.

I still have my old Stech springs in my garage if u do decide to go spring instead of coils. Ill be willin to sell on 9k miles on them

So you have to cut the spring to get a good height? How much you willing to sell for them?

I honestly don't want to cut anything, but I appreciate the link. Without that mod do you have a picture of how they looked on your car?

you have to think with springs you will have no adjustability and will have to get struts as well eventually depending on the state of your oem struts. with coils you have the ability to not only adjust height but the dampening as well. in the end you'll end up spending the same on springs/struts combo as you would on coilovers.

one thing i can say is that you might want to look for a linear style spring. the s-techs don't always settle evenly on these cars

Couldnt of said it better!

I spent about 600 the first time around with new springs/shocks. With coils you get to adjust the height you want & the damping to your liking. And would come just a few hundred dollar more then the spring/shock combo if not about the same price on a used set

Hope it all helps. Good luck & welcome to the forums

The adjustability is a big bonus, but not everyone needs it. Personally I think coilovers are worth the extra money though.

look for some megan coilovers or some bc coilovers. you'll be able to find a used set for under 800.
