Stock height??

Hey guys, so I was talking to a friend of mine and he was noticing how far my car was sitting off the ground, he thinks it might have been lowered previously, so out of curiousity i just wanted to get people's input and see what they thought, i haven't had a chance to really take a look at the springs to see if they were aftermarket, however looking at older pictures of my previous G35, the height does look kind of different however that car was sitting on stock 17" with stock size tires.

Grab a tape measure and measure from the ground to the center of the wheel arch and compare to:

From the Factory Service Manual (ie FSM)

Wheelarch Height (Unladen = full tank of gas, spare tire, jack etc in stock locations)

With 17"
Front: 691 mm (27.20 in)
Rear: 702 mm (27.64 in)

With 18"
Front: 694 mm (27.32 in)
Rear: 710 mm (27.95 in)

With 19"
Front: 699 mm (27.52 in)
Rear: 710 mm (27.95 in)

These measurements are from the ground to the high point of the arch (centered on the wheel hub).

Don't forget, blown shocks can also cause dramatic height changes - don't immediately assume a lower than stock height is due to springs/purposeful lowering. Check your springs - if they appear stock, check to make sure they're not Z springs, which drop the 35coupe .5" and 35sedan a full inch.

its hard to feel a blown shock because you never felt a non blown shock before. The shocks gradually go bad, but it happens in a fashion that becomes unnoticable. Sorry its hard to explain but i thought my shocks were ok also, untill i replaced them.

from the pics looks like stock hegiht to me i dunno

I have 19" Rays...My current measure taken from all 4 wheels is: F: 25.4" (-2.1") & R: 26.4" (-1.6")

I think it is just the angle, judging from the second pic it looks pretty close to stock. Impossible to tell by pics though, unless they are of what spring is on your car
