Question Help with new rear brakes for 2003 G35 coupe

I need new rotors and pads for the rear brakes of a 2003 G35 coupe. It's a manual and the calipers aren't gold in color so I assume the brakes aren't Brembos. I'm under the assumption that the least expensive way to have this done is to buy the parts and have them installed by a mechanic Is this correct? I live in Manhattan and have neither the tools, space or skill to change them myself. Do I need to purchase any parts other than the rotors and pads?

I'm not looking for any special parts. Just something inexpensive and reliable that will get the job done. BrakeBest, Duralast and ProStop offer similarly priced rotors..$35 - $39. Is one brand better than the other? For all I know they may be made by the same manufacturer but branded differently for different stores. Any brake pad suggestions?

Thanks for any help!

Brakebest is horrible. Look at the marketplace for rotors

When mine were worn out I upgraded to drilled and slotted rotors. I bought a full set front and rear with pads they're like $150 on eBay for the full set up and they're good quality too I've had them for about a year and they're still looking and performing great. Also they aren't that hard to install yourself if you have a floor jack and a c clamp and a few other basic tools. Just my $.02 good luck!

Thanks for the help. This car is only used about once a month, typically for long distance travel from NYC to Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida or Connecticut. So about 80% of its time is spent on the highway. It also may be sold within the next year or so. These are a couple of the reasons I'm not looking for anything too expensive nor high performance.

Adil - I don't even know where to begin to look in the brake section of the marketplace for the type of rotors and pads that meet my needs. Everything I looked at seemed geared for high performance. I guess I'm just looking for something that's equivalent to the stock rotors and pads. Any suggestions?

Krazy - Do you remember which brand you went with? My only concern is the warranty. They're all one year which is a year less than the warranty on the inexpensive rotors from the local auto parts stores.

Thanks again!

I'm not sure what brand the rotors were I know the pads were Omni or Omni 5 something like that
