I wouldn't be too worried about swapping out suspension. If you take the necessary steps things like this generally won't happen. I've swapped out coilovers/springs/shocks so many times I can't even count anymore.

If you do things properly with our cars you have very little to fear switching out springs/shocks. I worry more about stripping screws more than a spring being shot out...
