Brake Pedal goes to the floor - Bleeding Question too
I have 2 questions actually... one, I was driving around without brake pads on the rear passenger side as some of you already now (lol) .. only drove maybe 10 miles total like this but I destroyed the brake piston in doing so. (the piston was literally blown out of the caliper before rebuilding it and the brake light, VDC and Slip light have been on with the car going into limp mode even at one point.
So I ordered in a new piston and seal kit from RockAuto and today I rebuilt the brake caliper. Everything else looked fine. Put on the new rotor, the new pads. Well after I put the brakes back on, I refilled the brake fluid but was unable to bleed the rear brake that I just rebuilt the caliper on. (waiting on speed bleeders, apparently the ones I ordered only fit the fronts and not the rears).
Anyway, the brake pedal goes all the way down and when I pump it, it pumps up nicely but then when I step on it again, it goes all the way down with no resistance.. Is this because I did not bleed the rear brake and there is air in the system?
Also, I read somewhere that there is an order to bleed brakes in, I think it said start with the passenger rear, then go to driver rear, driver front and passenger front? Is that true?
Thanks guys... (this is a learning lesson for me).

Most likely you have air in your system. I'd bleed the entire system. The correct order is in your factory service manual. For my 05x its RR →LF→ LR → RF, but like I said double check the FSM for your year/model. Make sure the brake resevoir is always at least half full during the bleed, and when pumping the pedal make sure not to let it go all the way to the floor, some say this can blow a seal or damage the brake master cylinder.
