New Rotors Don't Fit
Hey everyone,
I purchased a D2 BBK locally a little while ago, and went to install them and I am having some issues. This is my first time I have installed brakes, however I was working on it with a family member who is a certified mechanic so I had some professional guidance.
The issue: The rotors didn't fit. They are 2 piece rotors. The rotor itself seemed to be the right size: 330mm by 32mm but we guessed that the hub portion (rotor hat?) that was bolted onto the rotor was wrong. Although it was strange because the hub bore and bolt pattern was correct because it slid right on. However once we fully tightened the rotor it wouldn't even budge because it was hitting the lower portion of the spindle on a knuckle there. Initially we just figured the issue was the dust shield but we hacked that completely off, then fully tightened the rotor and it was stuck. We considered shaving the knuckle but since the rotor was knocking so bad we didn't even bother.
Does anyone know if we were doing something wrong or if the rotors were simply the wrong size? Any help would be appreciated.
Sorry, I forgot to take pictures. Hopefully this explanation will suffice. Thanks in advance.

They came to me mounted, so I am thinking maybe they were just the wrong size ;/
