Brakes Akebono Brake Kit installtion question

I just had my a full set of Akebono brake kit installed on my 06 coupe last month.
And I went to Infiniti this morning for oil change. The mechanic said the calipers were installed on the wrong side. The bleeding ports should be pointing upward. (Now they are pointing downward.)

Is the mechanic right?
What is the difference between the port directions?

Thank you for your opinion!

Yes mechanic is right.

Functionally they will work the same since pistons are same size. Only real difference is you cant bleed them properly with port pointing downward. You probably have a slightly spongy feel in your pedal.

Thankfully it is easy to swap them.

You're probably right. The day of installation, my mechanic spent quite some time on bleeding. And the padel feel is not as strong as I expected.

My mechanic is agreed to change them this weekend. I just hope everything would go quick and well.

The real question is why do you go to the dealer for an oil change? And tell me you didn't let them wash it for you as well.........
