Okay im new to this forum i purchased a g35 3 days ago and i have some concerns. it is the 2004 sport coupe 6mt with brembos. I dont know if this is relevant to the issue but it has coilovers which lowered the car it has a stillen intake and the previous owner said the exhaust was stillen which it looks nothing like a still it looks more like the hks replica or the Xo2. it has a stage 2 clutch and short throw shifter. OKAY for my concerns, the previous owner said that he got the VDC permenanatly disabled. He did not do it himself he got a shop to do it and payed $20 as he stated. I dont know if it was the truth or not. Well i got it home and the next couple days i have had a random occurance of the abs coming on as im pulling off in first gear i have to stop and pull off again. As the abs came on the vdc light slip light and abs would all flash and the abs warning came up on the navi screen. So does anyone know what could be causing this its kind of freaking me out and frustrating me. Also how do i connect the traction control or VDC back up again? Also wanted to add that the e-brake isnt tight enough to hold a car on the incline it needs to be tightened and also this issue seemed to only be triggered when the ebrake was up and when it was released after getting back in the car it would do it on pull off. but now i have avoided the ebrake completely and just put it in gear when shut off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

 

When the vdc/slip/abs lights came on, were you accelerating hard or just normal acceleration?

Do you have stock rims and stock size tires on them?

 

No pulled off at normal speeds sometimes slowly never hard acceleration. And no it has the g37 stock 19s it's lowered too if that helps?

 

One thing I have noticed is that if I start my car in the morning none of the lights go on as soon as I move forward in first it hits abs and stops me as soon as that happens all the lights vdc,slip and abs come but once they come on it doesn't happen again and the abs light goes off. This seems to happen everytome the car is shut off for a decent amount of time maybe a couple hours or so then turned back on. Leading me to think it may be a faulty abs sensor? Any advice ?

 

Sounds like one of the speed sensors at the wheels has an intermittent short or open.

 

How do I test to see if it's that ? Or find which one it is sorry for my noob questions also how much would it cost me

 

Do you have a Check engine light or some other on? You need to read the OBD2 codes and see what is going on.

Yes a check engine but not for anything to do with that it's for an emissions. I do need to know who did the work but I don't think I'll find out lol. I'll be sure to ask I also wanted to say that everytome I start the car the lights aren't on once I pull off they only come on when my rpm hit 1900 but if I'm past 1st in second the abs won't come on if I hit 1900 in first they will very odd
