AWD Compression Rod replacement: Driveshaft off?

Have any of you AWD guys replaced your compression rods? I was attempting to do this over the weekend and couldnt get the rod off at the spindle-the driveshaft is definitely in the way. I thought of taking the rod off where it connects into the body, hoping i could push that end down and wiggle the spindle end out but the actual compression rod bushing was seized. This was despite two separate days of heavy PB Blasting prior to attempting this; definitely disappointing as everything went smooth up until that point.

I am probably going to end up taking it to the dealer or a G/350Z shop somewhere but for the benefit of the next AWD guy who wants to do this, can anyone confirm that the driveshaft needs to be removed or at least disconnected from the spindle to do this? There's an extremely helpful procedure here by dankfresh but its for a RWD not AWD.

Mods, if this is in the wrong forum, my apologies, please move.

Confirmed per dealership that did installed the compression rods: the drive shafts do not have to be removed to replace the compression rods.
