Brakes Pads & Rotor Recommendations?

I have a 2007 5AT sport sedan w/ 67k, mostly city miles. I'd like to upgrade front rotors and all four pads and would like to get folk's experiences and opinions. I'm not building a track car, just amping a street car.

I've recommendations for Baer and PowerSlot cryogenic rotors, and EBC green stuff and StopTech pads. But I'm not settled on anything yet.

Any thought on products to consider or ones to avoid?
Thanks!

My only advice - avoid drilled rotors. If you want an aggressive look, go for slotted rotors.

Project Mu NS or B-Force brake pads have been great to me as well.

Brakes

Interesting observation! I hadn't thought about the eye appeal of the rotor at rest, but I can see how the drilled would distract from the active, forceful, arc of the slotting.

Thanks for a new idea to consider. I'll also look into the Project Mu NS or B-Force brake pads.

Thanks!

Due to aloss of integrity, drilled rotors may crack under hard braking. The holes help disperse heat to keep the rotors cool, but slotted rstors can help cool as well but their main function is to expel carbon from more aggressive brake pad compounds to help keep the brake pads contacting the rotors when you need them to. Unless you are braking so hard that your rotors are always turning red, slotted rotors can be much more functional while looking nice too.

I have R1 Concept's slotted (not drilled) E-line rotors paired with Akebono performance pads. Great setup all around on my 03 w/Brembos.

HAWK pad should be "Bed In" (search)

Once I needed new rotors I'd heard good things about DBAs and it was all true. They're sold in any configuration you want from the vendors on our Marketplace. Since installing my DBA rotors and HAWK HPS pads the pad life has tripled and SLICK stops on a dime! That's my recommendation, anyone that runs the DBAs loves em...Gary

StopTech Powerslot rotors are good, no need to get the cryo version.

DBA T2 rotors are also a good choice, I think DBA rotors are just a little more durable and worth the price.

Pad choice, Hawk HPS is a good daily driver pad, moderate dust, good linear friction. I've had happy customers with those.

Don't by StopTech drilled rotors.

I tried Hawk HPS and they scared me to death in cold wet weather.

EBC "green stuff" grabbed like crazy, but ate rotors like candy.

Went back to a ceramic stock pad.

Kit is not necessary, if you're looking for a close to OEM rotor Centric Premium is a good choice, StopTech pads are great pads, good bite but can be a little dusty.

What you need to order will depend on year, model, and options. My 05 6MT sedan shares front rotors with other G35s but the rear rotors are the same part number as an FX35 rear rotors.
