Question: What do I need to replace rotors?

At the moment I have a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe with Brembo brake package. Sadly, I now need to replace them but somebody said I may need new rotors? Do you have to replace your rotors everytime you replace brakes? Or only when the brakes are almost gone completely?

I found a brembo brake replacement already but cant seem to find just slotted rotors. They are all coming in kits with calipers, rotors, brake lines and everything. Do I need new brake lines if I buy new Rotors or replace my brakes?

Sorry for all the question, Im so lost

To replace rotors you generally should get new pads. If just pads than get rotors resurfaced unless too worn out to get resurfaced.

unless the rotor is warped just measure how thick it is and make sure it is within the spec stamped onto the rotor if it is warped, you may be able to machine it and take care of it as long as it isn't too thin. If it is too thin, or warped beyond repair then you would need to replace them, and you should replace the pads with them. If they are ok just replace the pads if necessary and you are good to go.

Are you going to do any track time with it? Centric make a nice rotor you can get whatever you want slotted-drilled or slotted and drilled. That what Im going with when I replace mine slotted and drilled with camfer on the holes.

I ended up going with these because of the cheap price and location in the state i live in. Also, I got a set of Hawk HPs for 140

04 Coupe w/Brembos

The local Infiniti dealer quoted me $1200 to replace my front rotors and pads.
OEM Brembo rotors are crap. It's their calipers that they are known for.
I went to RockAuto.com and got StopTech (Centric) drilled/slotted and StopTech pads for around $250.00 including shipping. So far I am VERY happy.
