^this. besides we're talking about side curtain airbags, not the ones that keep you from headbutting the dash/steering wheel. was it a little pointless to remove them for only 10-20 lbs of weight loss? maybe but it isn't really that big of a deal. How many people replace their oem wheel with an aftermarket one that doesn't have an airbag at all? That's probably more dangerous than removing the side airbags.

He said passenger and curtian airbag. The people who swap steering wheels are just as dumb.

I guess anyone with a classic muscle car is dumb because they DIDN'T add airbags.

First, it is nearly impossible to install airbags in a classic without massive amounts of money and engineering. Also there is a HUGE difference between redesigning a car to add safety equipement and removing safety equipment just because you think it is cool. This should be common sense.

When it's all said and done, which car has more safety features?

The classic muscle car or the kid's G35? That's the point. Both CHOOSE to ride with XX amount of safety equipment. Added or deleted.

How is his car any worse than let's say a 1992 maxima with only the driver's side airbag? You refuse to drive with anyone with a 1992 maxima?

Make no mistake though. I do not think the benefits of a few lbs doesn't outweigh the loss of safety.

Again leave it you and only you to come up with some ridiculous comparison. Did the maxima owner remove any stock safety features for braggin rights to random people online? For once in your years on this forum Jeff use common sense please. The debate is not if cars have gotten safer in 40 years, of course they have. The issue at hand is people who disable factory installed safety features on their family car so they can shake their e-***** online and brag about saving 5 lbs.

Wow you honestly need to find something more productive to do with your time.

The OP wasn't intended as a debate. I can only imagine how many other members post you have taken and completely just thrown your opinionated replies at. WOW! Pathetic.
